Sober Pregame launches in Chicago
A new event series called Sober Pregame is launching in Chicago this summer, offering a casual, alcohol-free alternative to the traditional night out. The first event takes place Saturday, July 5, from 7 to 9PM at 3447 N Halsted. Admission is free.

The event is designed to offer a space for conversation, music, and community without the presence or pressure of alcohol. Nonalcoholic beverages will be served, and the atmosphere is intentionally easygoing — welcoming those who want to connect with others in a more relaxed and substance-free setting.
The rise of nonalcoholic beverages has made events like this increasingly viable. According to recent industry reports, the NA category has grown significantly over the past few years, with new products entering the market and consumer demand shifting toward more inclusive options. For many, choosing not to drink is no longer about abstinence — it’s about preference, wellness, or simply wanting a different kind of night out.
The organizers behind Sober Pregame say the event is intended for anyone: those who are sober, sober-curious, or just looking for something calmer before heading into the rest of their evening. It’s not anti-nightlife — it’s a reimagining of what going out can look like.
The July 5 event is the first in a planned series, with more dates expected to be announced later this year.
